The Tabià restaurant, which takes its name from the traditional local hayloft which the building was used as before restructuring, opened its doors in 1973. Since then, guests have been able to enjoy renewed and enhanced versions of traditional mountain dishes prepared using typical local fare such as cheeses from the malgas and dairies in the Agordino area, as well as gnocchi with ricotta, polenta and Schiz, pastin, roe-deer and mushrooms. The menu changes continually, but always offers tasty, genuine dishes and a large selection of wines. You can round off your meal with our delicious, home-made sweets or one of our flavoured grappas.
The restaurant is an ideal departure point for walks or hikes in the delightful landscape on the slopes of the Cime d’Auta group, where you might easily encounter some of the wild animals which inhabit the surroundings woods. Near the restaurant you can visit the little church in the village of Feder where the future Pope John Paul I Albino Luciani, then the chaplain of Canale d’Agordo, celebrated the first Mass on the 12th of September 1935 .
Advanced booking is appreciated. The road is always practicable, even in winter.
