The Valmorel dairy is located in Valmorel, in themunicipality of Limana, at an altitude of 800m. Nestling amid the fields and pasturelands of which the local writer Dino Buzzati sang the praises, the dairy is one of the very few in the province which still operates according to the “rotational” method, i.e. it collects the milk from the members of the cooperative and makes the milk and butter which is then returned to the members.
In operation since 1939, the dairy still works with raw milk, using traditional methods, which guarantees a characteristic, natural, truly “home-made” cheese, the quality and taste of which varies from day to day, depending on the quality and taste of the milk used to produce it. All stages of the production process can be observed in the dairy, which organizes educational visits by appointment.
